A satellite dish is a parabolic antenna designed to receive broadcast signals from communication satellites (in DStv’s case from broadcasting satellites in geostationary orbit). It captures microwave signals and reflects them to a focal point where a small device called an LNB (Low-Noise Block downconverter) receives and converts the signal into a cable feed for your TV decoder.
